Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA)

PFMEA identifies potential failures of a process before they occur. PFMEA then goes on to establish the potential the potential effects of the failures, their causes, how often and when they might occur and their potential seriousness.

Course Description

This two day course uses case studies to facilitate accelerated learning of the PFMEA process.
The course is a mixture of instructor led sessions followed by team activities where the process is applied to a case study.

The Learning Gain

At the end of the course the delegates will be able to:-
bulletDescribe how Failure Mode & Effects Analysis identifies opportunities for defect prevention, which in turn leads to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
bulletUse techniques such as Brain Storming, Effects Matrix and Fishbone diagrams, to ensure focused and effective PFMEA output.
bulletIdentify the outs of PFMEA and the linkages with Design FMEA and control charts.

They will also have:-

bulletThe required knowledge to perform a PFMEA as part of a team.
bulletReceived the necessary learning to overcome some of the pitfalls, sometimes encountered, whilst performing a PFMEA.

Pre-Requisites:

There are no pre-requisites for this course although an appreciation of general quality methodologies would be an advantage.
