The SAS Learning model has been developed to give a pictorial demonstration of the way in which the training that we offer differs from most training companies. The approach that SAS have taken is to offer training that is not only just in time but also training that is relevant to the individual and the organisation. To meet both these objectives SAS have developed training products that are both flexible and work based. SAS have realised that, in general, awareness training has very little value. We have therefore developed structured reading material that is both graphic and informative, and gives the reader an awareness of the tool or methodology in question. These reading materials can be made available to our customers free of charge. These data sheets are called “Free-View” and can be ordered by contacting SAS (Sherbourne Associate Services Ltd). The Learning Model shows how the learning needs can be achieved at various levels through different routes. This is a model and only shows some of the combinations that are possible and is a useful training needs analysis tool. SAS believe that the learning gain should be agreed prior to commencement of any training and we therefore, provide a complete review of the learning gain for each product. This is our “learning contract”. Click on the circled numbers to jump to a description of each area.
Awareness - Anyone can easily
gain an awareness of a tool or methodology for themselves, through reading
material, information on the Internet or through attending an overview course.
SAS Ltd offer awareness training to existing business partners and have various technical
documents, called "Quick View" that will give information on any given tool or methodology. In the
near future, such information will be available through this site. Regularly
check our News page for details of forthcoming releases.
Application - To gain true
value from any training, it should be applied in time and with measurable
results. SAS are able to offer training whilst enabling delegates with some
knowledge of the tool or methodology to apply it to a real live issue that is
affecting their business, whilst still learning more about the subject.
Advanced Application -
For delegates with a more in-depth knowledge of the tool or methodology, SAS are
able to run application workshops that focus all energy on applying the tool in
the workplace on a real live issue. This is the most cost effective way of
carrying out any training and SAS effectively become facilitators, guiding the
delegates in the use of the tool.
Internal Facilitator - Once delegates
have a full understanding of the given tool or methodology and gained experience
in applying it as part of a team and of leading a team, they can go on to
cascade that information to others within the organisation. SAS are able to
accredit individuals in the delivery of any of the subjects we offer. We are
able to 'Train the Trainer' thus eliminating the need for our further
intervention and hence achieving our mission in "Transferring our skills to our
business partners"
